Why Join Para Hen-Hellys?

South Kerrier Heritage Trust is a charity established by the local community specifically to protect, manage and develop Helston Museum, their objectives are:
“To manage, maintain and develop Helston Museum for the benefit of the public and to advance education in the heritage, arts and crafts of the South Kerrier area”

The Trust is run by local, volunteer trustees and as an independent educational charity we rely on the kind support of people like you. Our income is obtained from a variety of sources including donations, shop sales, income from events and from our Para Hen-Hellyssupporters’ group. To help us establish the Museum and Trust we also receive an annual grant from Cornwall Council for the first 3 years of operation. Specific development projects can only be funded by grant applications or via donations.

Support for the Museum by individuals through our Para Hen-Hellys group is increasingly important to us as times get harder for all museums in the current economic climate. The £25 personal annual subscription contributes in full to the operation of Helston Museum. We currently have a £10,000 annual target for the group to enable us to continue to operate and improve the Museum.

HelstonMuseum is reputed to be the largest social history collection in Cornwall. In addition to maintaining the collection and constantly improving access to the exhibits, we work with schools, community groups, academics, artists and researchers and do lots 'behind the scenes' to look after our unique collection.
